The Ship Patch gives you more
fighters to fly in such as: TIE Defender, T- Wing, R-41, and
adds Capital ships such as the
Passenger Liner, Scout Craft, Carrack Cruiser. The File is 4.9 MB.
Note that this patch does NOT alter any ships in Xvt and BoP; it only adds new ships. To quote Draconius - the maker - "I feel that TG/LEC should have included them in a patch of their own, and feel they are part of the game and see no reason not to include the XWCS opt files for use with XvT/BoP seeing as they are nearly the exact same format. It is likely they were suppose to be in the game any way." For some reason LEC let them out, but thanks to Draconious we now have the options to use them.
An advantage is that the patch uses it's own (un)install program, meaning you can (un)install the patch anytime you want to!
Below are some pics to see
the new ships being added with some shipinfo.

Please note that you can't use these craft if you don't make any missions using them. The original XvT missions don't include them automatically. However the patch includes some custom made missions and you can download mine ofcourse :) Also note that this patch adds ships to both XvT and BoP. The XvT ships includes the B-wing, Medium Transport, Modified Corvette, Modified Frigate, Passenger Liner, Carrack Cruiser, Light Calamari Cruiser, Scout Craft, Tie Defender and Missile Boat.
XP users: a XP compatible installer is now included as separate download. The original shippatch installer doesn't work in XP. Put the installer in the same directory as the shippatch. All thanks goes to Ondurman for creating and Carlos for supplying the installer.
You can download the Shippatch
on my page here or
on Draconious homepage. I suggest you use mine for it's be most recent.
You can download the XP installer
here or

A few basic questions after installing the patch:
Q: Both the STRKC and the M/STRKC
have all the same stats and everything; the only thing that is different is
the picture and 1m size difference, where before they had completely different
descriptions and names (only if you have downloaded the shippatch before 24-12-2004)!
A: It is the new Frntspec.lst file that is at fault. It's in your XvT/BoP Frontres.
Next to CRUSC.OPT (the M/STRKC) there is a 46, which is the STRKC. The 46 needs
to be changed to a 92, which proves to be the ship slot of the M/STRKC.
Q: The Patch made my game cursor
look like a Star Destroyer without my permission! (it becomes a ISD)
A: In your XvT/frontres you'll find a file called cursor. Copy and paste the
cursor file from your cd-disk and you have your xwing back.
Q: A lot of the new ships you got
to fly were screwy, like the lasers materialized a few feet in front of your
ship, or there were no warhead counters, or the warheads only fired from the
right side.
A: Just because you can 'fly' these ships doesn't mean there where mend be be
flown. These ships simply have cockpits so they are 'flyable'. I
believe only the TIE Defender, T- Wing, R-41 and Missile Boat have 'true' cockpits.
If you want true cockpits make them yourselves. Trust me that takes a
load of work.
Q: The Shuttle looks like an X-Wing
on the craft selection screen!
A: I have no idea how to change it - proably can't...
Q: I have yucky CRAFT 00-03 in the
Library!
A: These are open slots for your own custom ships. To delete them from the Library
open your Frntspec in you XvT or Bop/Frontres. This is the list of craft in
your craft library. Simply delete the lines
ivfiles\CRAFT00.OPT 10
ivfiles\CRAFT01.OPT 11
ivfiles\CRAFT02.OPT 31
ivfiles\CRAFT03.OPT 39
Q: Can I use it next to the XVTUpgrade
A: Yes!
